NETFLIX’S 3 BODY PROBLEM INVADES SOUTHERN CROSS STATION
AUDIO VISUAL PROJECTION MAPPING CONTENT, EXPERIENTIAL ON-GROUND ACTIVATION
[THE OPPORTUNITY] We were invited by Netflix to take part in their ‘You Are Bugs’ global launch campaign for their highly anticipated series, 3 Body Problem. Our team was tasked to take care of the Australian leg of this global activation. We began to explore an immersive on-ground experience that would push our creative and technological expertise. Something that would create intrigue, spark buzz, and immerse viewers into the show's mysterious universe — all during the high-traffic F1 Grand Prix weekend in Melbourne. [THE IDEA] We transformed Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station into a gateway to another world with a high-impact audiovisual experience. The centrepiece? A massive 3D projection mapping of an enormous alien eye — referencing the pivotal ‘YOU ARE BUGS’ moment from the series. The experience was paired with an immersive custom soundscape to heighten the tension and pull audiences deeper into the story world. The activation attracted 500,000+ passers-by, and positioned 3 Body Problem as a must-watch title — building hype and enhancing the global rollout in a culturally relevant, sensory-driven way. [WHAT I DID] Associate Creative Director & Content Director (Client-facing) from pre-production to delivery Collaborated with the Australian market team to transform an open brief into a compelling film concept that brought early momentum to the project. Shaped the story structure, crafted detailed animatics, and served as film director, editor and sound designer for early previews Led the direction and production of the experiential content, partnering with post and sound specialists from the Netherlands and India. Balanced creative ambition with projection tech constraints and public space dynamics. Maintained close collaboration with Netflix, providing regular updates and creative alignment
